Skidmore is the smallest community in the nation to host
the half-scale traveling Vietnam Memorial three times.
"I've had the privilege of
being associated with
Freedom Fest since its
inception, and I have seen
the effect that it and the
town of Skidmore have
had on veterans from all
over the world . . . and it
has been a healing."

"People from all walks of
life gathered to honor vets
from all wars, but more so
the families of those vets. I
want to thank the
committee for loving us so
much, and the sponsors for
making it a reality, instead
of a dream, for vets like
myself and vets from all
wars to come together for
the same reasons."
- Gene Daniels
Decorated Combat Veteran
"Everyone, including
attendees, speakers, and
other participants, merchants
and whole families, seemed
to be caught up in the spirit
of the event, and that spirit
was literally contagious. Now
I understand why people
keep coming back to
Freedom Fest year after
year."

Where's Skidmore?
* * * * * * * For your information * * * * * * *
For the first time, we will be having a dog show at Freedom Fest.  Since so many bring their
loyal four legged friends to our event, we decided to have some fun with it.  There will be a
costume contest (patriotic and/or military) as well as a "strut your stuff" parade.

"I am very proud to be
among you and I'd like to
see this event continue for
many years to come, not
just for my benefit, or
your benefit, but for our
kids. If we have a product
to sell in this country it is
Americanism and
Patriotism. You can't put
a price on that."

"What the Freedom Fest Committee has
achieved in Skidmore leads us to the position
that, regardless of size, your reunion is one of
the very best reunions presented in the entire
country today."
