The Moving Wall
1996-1997-1999

Skidmore is the smallest community in the country
to host the half-scale traveling Vietnam Memorial three times.

Nearly 35,000 people from 27 states
visited The Wall during its first appearance in 1996.

Gold Star Mother and Skidmore resident Adelle Jones
was the first visitor to walk The Wall during its initial appearance in 1996.
While talking to Britt Small Adelle said, "My son's finally come home."
The Traveling Wall brings this to many who are unable to travel to Washington D.C.

Many family moments- and many quiet moments-
are spent at The Wall.

Black balloons
released
symbolizing each
one of Missouri's
POW/MIAs.
